Magnetic braille using ferrofluids

چکیده

Braille provides an invaluable tactile reading system for the visually impaired. However, current braille keyboards and technology are external mechanical devices limited by their large form factor, high expense long refresh rates. A magnetic touchpad in which dots formed through a ferrofluid medium is potential device that could promise to replace providing higher rates, lower cost give easy integration into devices. In this report, work shown towards developing proof of concept touch pad, wherein dot using controlled field produced small scale electromagnet. Attempted optimisation formation also undertaken, varying properties electromagnet architecture accurate dots. Results show pads realistic can be built there clearly extensive opportunities further research. future fully implemented information use
